LUMCON (Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium) is having its Open House this Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The event will be held at the W.J. DeFelice Marine Center, 8124 Hwy 56, Cocodrie, Louisiana.

They are inviting everyone to join them for a day of family fun and learning! Activities include:

* Free air boat rides (ages 12 and up)
* Scavenger hunt
* Games
* Hands-on lab activities
* Touch tank
* Prizes for the kids
* Displays and demonstrations
* Faculty and guest speakers
* Lunch (free red beans and rice! YUM!)

I will be part of the faculty and guest speakers event and will give a talk at 12:30 PM about the Louisiana Shrimp Industry. See ya’ll there!
