To all involved in making our shrimpers’ summit, Louisiana Shrimping 2012, a success . . . thank you.

This program was a first of its kind event here in Louisiana and provided shrimpers and others with a means of getting up to date on current industry issues, programs, services, and technologies. Approximately 90 persons attended the first day (April 4), and the second day (April 5) had about 80 or so people participating. (We would probably have had a better turnout if not for the severe weather and the fact that the shrimp are running in the passes pretty good right now.)

Everyone’s participation in this program is greatly appreciated. Also, we will soon begin planning, for next year, an expanded version of this year’s summit, which will most likely include all major commercial fisheries, not just shrimp. As this develops, we will keep you updated.
