The National Marine Fisheries Services’ (NMFS) will be conducting public workshops on the new Highly Migratory Species (HMS) electronic dealer reporting system being implemented in 2013. The purpose of the workshops is to train HMS dealers on how to use the new system and help ease the transition from the current paper format to the new HMS electronic reporting system. Highly Migratory Species include swordfish, shark, and tunas. Two workshops will be held in Louisiana. The first will be on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Belle Chasse Auditorium, 8398 Hwy 23, Belle Chasse LA 70037. The second workshop will be on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Grand Caillou Recreation Center, 106 Badou Drive Dulac LA 70353.
